Confused about the new healthcare law and how it could impact you, your family or your small business? Enroll Michigan is here to help.
Enroll Michigan’s statewide network of Navigators and Certified Application Counselors (CACs) are available to assist you or your small business, at no cost, in understanding your enrollment options. As the name suggests, Navigators assist consumers in “navigating” the Health Insurance Marketplace, where consumers are able to access the tax credits and cost-sharing reductions that make purchasing private health insurance more affordable. Consumers can also get help enrolling in the Healthy Michigan Plan, Medicaid, and MI Child.
The typical consumer in Michigan has about 43 different health plans to choose from through the Health Insurance Marketplace, which houses its online application at Healthcare.gov. Consumer choice is a good thing because, more likely, you will find a plan that is right for your budget and your healthcare needs. But more choice can also lead to confusion sometimes, especially if you have never shopped for insurance before.
If you need help navigating health reform and enrollment options in the Health Insurance Marketplace, you can find a Certified Navigator or Certified Application Counselor under the Assistance by Region tab.
