More than 321,000 Michigan residents are among the more than 9.2 million Americans who signed up for 2017 health coverage through HealthCare.gov as of January 31, 2017, the end of this year’s open enrollment, according to the biweekly enrollment snapshot released by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently.
The report, issued on February 3, shows that 321,451 consumers have selected a plan in Michigan since open enrollment began on November 1, 2016. That figure includes 162,464 consumers in the Detroit area (a Designated Market Area).
Consumers may still enroll in Medicaid year-round, and could be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period through HealthCare.gov with eligible circumstances.
