WHAT IS HEALTHCARE.GOV?
Healthcare.gov serves as Michigan’s online insurance marketplace. Healthcare.gov is the only website where you can purchase health insurance and qualify for the federal tax credits that help to make purchasing insurance more affordable to you or your small business.

HOW MANY INSURANCE PLANS WILL I HAVE TO CHOOSE FROM?
The average citizen in Michigan will have 43 different insurance plans to choose from. The actual number varies by region but there will be many plans to pick from wherever you live.
WILL THERE BE QUALITY PLANS TO CHOOSE FROM?
All the plans sold on the Healthcare.gov marketplace meet the Essential Health Benefit standard. This means every plan covers essential services like maternity care, hospitalization stays, childhood dental and vision, prescription drugs and mental health services.
WILL THERE DEDUCTIBLES AND COPAYS?
There will be costs associated with all plans, including the new expanded Medicaid program. However, the Affordable Care Act uses tax credits to ensure that all Americans have access to “affordable” insurance. Some plans on the marketplace will have high deductibles while others will have no deductibles. Some plans will have significant copays and others will have very few. It’s ultimately about consumer choice and selecting a plan that is right for your situation and budget.
